Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data. Last updated May 2026.
Plain-English summary. We collect only the information we need to ship your parcel, keep you updated, and run our website. We never sell your data. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
Skyway Parcel ("we", "us", or "our") is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and our shipping services. You can reach our team using the contact details at the foot of every page or by emailing support@skywayparcel.com.
2. What we collect and why
- Shipment details — sender and recipient names, postal addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, package weight and contents description. We need these to print labels, prepare customs paperwork, hand the parcel to the delivery network, and notify both parties of progress.
- Account and admin user details — name, email, hashed password for staff who log in to the admin dashboard.
- Contact form submissions — name, email, subject, and message. Used to reply to your enquiry and improve our service.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and approximate location, captured automatically by our web server logs and used to keep the site secure and to fix problems.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract — processing shipment details is necessary to deliver the carriage service you booked.
- Legal obligation — customs declarations, tax records, and anti-fraud checks are required by law.
- Legitimate interest — keeping our website secure, preventing abuse of contact forms, and improving our service.
- Consent — for any optional marketing emails (you can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link).
4. Email notifications and unsubscribe
When a shipment is created or its status changes, we send transactional email updates to the sender and recipient using the addresses provided at booking. You can stop receiving these emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the foot of any tracking email or by visiting our unsubscribe page. Unsubscribing does not affect emails that are legally required (for example a delivery exception that needs your action).
5. Sharing your data
We share personal data only with parties who need it to fulfil your shipment or to keep our service running:
- Delivery partners and customs brokers in the origin, transit, and destination countries.
- Email and SMS providers who deliver tracking notifications on our behalf.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers who store and serve our website and database.
- Authorities when legally required (customs, law enforcement, courts).
We never sell or rent your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
6. International transfers
Because shipping is inherently international, your data will travel between countries — typically those involved in your shipment's route. Where we transfer data outside its country of origin, we rely on appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or your explicit consent).
7. How long we keep your data
- Shipment records — up to 7 years to satisfy customs, tax, and audit requirements.
- Contact form messages — up to 2 years after the matter is resolved.
- Web server logs — up to 90 days for security investigations.
- Unsubscribe records — kept indefinitely so we honour your preference if you ship with us again.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in to the admin area and to protect contact and booking forms from abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
9. Your rights
Depending on the jurisdiction you live in, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of data we no longer need to keep.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the foot of this page. We will respond within one month.
10. Security
We protect personal data using industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic to and from our website, password hashing for admin accounts, role-based access controls in the admin dashboard, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continually to reduce risk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on our home page or in tracking emails for an appropriate period.
12. Contact us
For any privacy question, request, or concern, contact us via the contact page or directly at support@skywayparcel.com.
